I was a bit surprised to be unable to find the Snow Grouse in the Whisky Bible. If anyone has seen it please let me know! Perhaps the author didn’t want to add a new category of “Blended Grain” just for one whisky. I’m not going to bother either. I’m going to keep it simple and put it under “grain” and leave it at that. It wont give me sleepless nights! 🙂

The Snow Grouse appeared on the market about 10 years ago but it’s only in recent years that whisky-based cocktails have grown in popularity. Haig jumped on this bandwagon with their ‘Club’ bottling and the Snow Grouse comes with several cocktail suggestions. It’s hardly surprising when drunk on its own (or with water) that the Snow Grouse fails to impress as all its faults are meant to be masked in a mix.

If you want to get into making whisky cocktails, the Famous Grouse Experience website provide quite a long list, including several that use the Snow Grouse. This can be found here. And for a video review of the Snow Grouse, here’s Beer Goggles on You Tube:
