Black Grouse

This blend seems to be quite a contentious whisky. On the one hand we have Jim Murray in the famous Whisky Bible saying the Black Grouse is “a real treasure” and giving it 94/100 which means a “superstar whisky that gives us all a reason to live” and on the other hand I’ve seen comments online and on You Tube videos saying this Scotch is terrible. One such remark was posted on Ralfy’s review of the Naked Grouse saying the Black Grouse “tasted like a foul cheap spirit, flat and flavourless.” Ralfy agreed and said it wasn’t a whisky he would be reviewing (but he did a few years later – see below).  It was these negative comments that caused me to get a small 5cl bottle instead of the 70cl ,which is readily available in local supermarkets. I’m yet to taste it but I’m interested to see which side of the fence I sit on when I do.
